A Song For My Story

Posted by on May 31, 2013

So. After I wrote Desert Rose, had the name all picked out and on its way to being published, that’s when I decided I  should probably check to see if any other book lay claim to that name. And yeah, there was a bunch. But then I stumbled across a video on YouTube, mind you I was searching through Google, not expecting a song named Desert Rose to pop up. And guess the singer: Sting! Oh my goodness! I had goosebumps. It was as if the song had inspired the story, but I had never heard of it before. The melody, the rhythm, the words…awesome.

Ever had that happen before? What would you call it, déjà vu? Or something else? Hmmm…maybe I should go look up my next short story. Why do I always think about this after the fact? Ha! (By the way, I just received word that the next short story will be coming soon!)

may book giveaway

If you haven’t read Desert Rose yet, you’re in luck. I just happen to be giving away a Kindle copy, as well as some other cool prizes as we’re celebrating the new website and blog with the May There Always Be Books Giveaway Book Hop. The giveaway ends tonight! So if you haven’t entered, go check it out!

So now for the videos. Desert Rose. The first one is just the lyrics, but the second video is all about Arabian horses. Gasp! I could not not share that one with you all. I was hooked on Arabian horses since I first read The Black Stallion Series. Sigh.

I love hearing from you!
