But before we get into the giveaway, let’s welcome A. C. Williams!
What is your favorite Doctor Who quote?
Doctor Who is remarkably quotable, so it’s really hard to pick a favorite. But I’m going to have to go with my top two, which I really think encompass the whole show:
“When you run with the Doctor, it feels like it will last forever. But however hard you try you can’t run forever. Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever for one moment, accepts it.” River Song, “The Forests of the Dead”
Or, another awesome one is 12’s defining speech on kindness.
“You and me, once and for all. Winning? Is that what you think it’s about? I’m not trying to win. I’m not doing this because I want to beat someone — or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It’s not because it’s fun. God knows it’s not because it’s easy. It’s not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it’s right! Because it’s decent! And above all, it’s kind!” The 12th Doctor, “The Doctor Falls”
2. What are some of your favorite books?
How can I even answer this? Oh my goodness. Here’s just a list that comes to mind….
- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
- Cinder by Marissa Meyer
- Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
- Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
- Iscariot by Tosca Lee
- Faith of the Fallen by Terry Goodkind
- Ishmael by Barbara Hambly
- Cooper Kids series by Frank Perreti
- Trixie Belden series by Kathryn Kenny
And a million more…..
3. What kind of stories do you write?
I’m wired for speculative fiction, and that’s my first love. But I also write romantic comedy because it sells! I have a space opera trilogy, The Destiny Trilogy, that has been super popular, but it doesn’t fit in the “mild” category! I also write fantasy (Meg Mitchell & The Secret of the Journal) under the name Kimberly McNeil, who is actually a character in the series.
I have dozens of novels planned, and the genres vary significantly. But in my stories, you can always count on captivating characters, complex stories, and enough humor to keep you laughing even when the story gets dark.
4.What is next for you?
I’m currently writing the sequel to my romcom Finding Fireflies. It should be out next year. I’m also working on the sequel to Meg Mitchell & The Secret of the Journal, Barb Taylor & The Mountain of Fire. The Destiny Trilogy isnt over either, as I’ll be starting book 4 in that series soon.
In other news, I’m also planning to offer one-on-one consults on character design. Join my Facebook group, the StoryNinja Academy (www.facebook.com/groups/storyninjacademy) for updates and freebies!
