Creative Dragons Revealed!

Posted by on August 1, 2013

Happy August! Can you believe it?

July has been a busy one! We have had book tours galore with Dragonwitch, King, Reaper’s Rhythm, and the Piercing Through the Darkness and Read Me Dead new covers tour. There’s just so many awesome things happening, I’ll have to do a link feast soon. We also saw a bunch of dragon themed post in honor of Dragonwitch. We had art, music, poetry: Dragonslayer, Poison, and a special guest post by cryptozoologist & author Robert Mullin: Do you believe in Dragons? You don’t want to miss that one!

Which brings us to today. With the release of Dragonwitch, Anne Elisabeth Stengl has so graciously provided a paperback copy for the Creative Dragon Giveaway! I want to thank everyone who got the word out there and to those who sent in their creative pieces. I am so excited to be able to share them with you all today!

The first piece of art I would like to share with you comes to us from Cindy Barton’s eight year old. Isn’t it awesome? Look at all the detail! The scales, the spikes.

This next creative piece is a poem by Konstanz Silverbow. I love it! I think I need a little dragon on my shoulder. 🙂

I am a night owl; that is when I write

With a dragon on my shoulder, his fire is my light.

I weave the words about, and when I get them right,

He whispers in my ear and tells me goodnight.

But when the words are wrong,

And they do not fit,

The dragon smacks me with his tail

And says they must be fixed.

So the backspace becomes my friend, and I work on.

Throughout the night until I hear a little hiss.

And when the new words are approved,

my tiny Fire breathing friend lets me rest again.

Original post can be found HERE

Next we have the creative talent of eleven year old Tristan. Here again, the details! Look at all those teeth and that tongue! Don’t you just love the tree?

Our final piece is from the very talented Hannah. You might remember her from the post on Dragon Art, who so kindly allowed me to share her poster for Dragonwitch. Today she shares a sketch of the Ice Dragons. LOVE it. My favorite colors, and the little baby dragon speaks to my mama heart.

Thank you all so much for participating in the creative dragon giveaway! This has been so much fun, we’ll have to do it again! I will be selecting the winner later today. So stay tuned!
