Happy almost fall!!
Of course that has been emphasized by an impromptu to visit from my mom and dad who flew down and stayed a week. Who we haven’t seen in three years. The kiddos soaked up their Grandma & Grandpa time for sure.
BUT before the excitement of my parents arriving, somewhere between my post on August 5th about taking a break because of all the craziness about to ensue AND them arriving, my hubby decided it would be a great time to pull up ALL the carpet and replace with laminate AND repaint rooms, redo the office, and put up siding.
I have no idea how made it through all that with my sanity still intact. If it was intact in the first place! But we made it!
- My first born is off to kindergarten. Piece of cake, compared to last year when he started Preschool. No tears this time!
- I’ve read my first British literature for the year. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Wow. Just wow. I mean, I saw the movie way back then, so it wasn’t like I wasn’t familiar with the story. But reading the….dream-like sequence…that was something else. Now I am even more curious about seeing the new movie when Alice returns to Wonderland. Have you seen it?
- Ran the first night of Awana games as the game director. It went….well. Seriously, it’s gonna be a great year. We’ve got a great team…did I mention my hubby is one of my assistants? Ha!
- And today, is the first day of our moms’ group. All the moving parts are in place for the kids program. Now we just release them and run like crazy. Ha! KIDDING. It will all work, despite any hiccups that might come our way. It’s only 50-60 kids under the age of 5, what could possibly go wrong? Ha! Famous last words.
Which brings me to the light at the end of the tunnel! And it aint’ no train. Ha!
Slowly but surely…
I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. I’ve been missing y’all out here in cyberspace and on Facebook.
So what y’all been up to? Have you transitioned into the fall activities already? What are you looking forward to this fall?
