Hey yall! Lynn Donovan has invited me to share my journey to Nälu over at her blog, Sitting on the Porch, Visiting with Lynn. Check it out! She is graciously giving away a signed paperback copy of the Clockwork Dragon Anthology which features two of my short stories, a bucket load of hers, and some of Pauline Creeden’s.
Originally, I was going to talk about costumes today, but I’ve moved it for later this month. So many cool things just keep happening around here. 🙂
So, book covers. They can make or break a book. Intrigue you enough to pick it up or push it aside. I’m not here to talk about the making or the breaking, or the designing. There are bloggers who have covered that topic more thoroughly than I could. Like Rebecca P. Minor for instance.
Anyways, there’s this big thing coming in August, and no, I’m not talking about our 11th wedding anniversary. 😀 Realm Makers. The first speculative fiction conference for Christian authors, and hopefully, one day to include all art forms in that genre. And it’s almost sold out. What’s this have to do with book covers? They have announced that they will be awarding the Parable Award for Excellence in Cover Design. They are looking for the best speculative fiction covers published within the religious market in 2012. Check it out and nominate the covers you think are the best! Submissions close June 30th.
Speaking of nominations, the submissions for the Clives Staples Award has closed. Now’s our chance to peruse the list of books and read! I’ve read seven so far of the thirty. It’s going to be a tough vote, some of my favorites are on that list. I hope we can vote for more than one. 🙂
