Oh, Kael, Kael, Kael. *shaking my head*
Where do I even begin? Sometimes, I just want to shake him. Knock him over the head with a 2 x 4 and say, DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING to yourself and those around you???
But he can’t. Because he is hurting. Hurt people hurt people.
Determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, Kael studied under the High Guardian Saeed in the far north. With the death of his wife, Kael buried himself in his studies while his sister cared for his young son. His close friend, Teron, anchored him when the loss of his wife nearly overwhelmed him, catching his sister’s eye. When Kael finished his studies, he planned to return to Zurial, celebrate his sister’s wedding, and decide if he would indeed take his father’s place at the council or accept Saeed’s recommendation to join the Guardian Circle. But he never got that chance.
Dagmar was attacked.
Tragedy struck him again. Angry with the Shadow God, Kael vowed to never love again. He would join the Circle, or die fighting alongside them. Death preferably.
That is until he met Teron’s sister, Ayianna.
Kael doesn’t exactly have a theme song, but I will tell you this. I was listening to this song on repeat those last few chapters of Darkened Hope, and I don’t normally listen to music with words while I am writing or editing. 😉
Don’t forget to check out the birthday bash! I’m giving away four advance reader copies ofDarkened Hope and we’re having a lot of fun doing so.
