Progress Report

Hello dear readers and fellow adventurers!

How are you?

morning-gloriesFall is in full swing now. All the fall activities are going like clockwork gears or a juggler’s pins. Haven’t decided which analogy fits better. The temps are getting cooler. Finally! Been getting a good routine down so far. We’ll see how long that will last. I’ve already noticed I’ve reached my max for brain functionality and life.

It’s been awhile hasn’t it? You wouldn’t believe how much trouble I have been having trying to string two coherent thoughts together this week. So I apologize in advance if I’m a little disjointed.

I’ve been quiet for two reasons.

One. I am writing!

This second rough draft is about 2/3 of the way through. I’ve been sharing a few tidbits here and there on Twitter and at times on Facebook. Just search for #HiddenDagger3. 🙂

Two. I started a job.

With my youngest entering kindergarten, I was needing to get a job. I will spare your eyes all the details, but the idea of getting an outside job was killing me. Took me the entire summer to sort of finally accept it. And then I was met with closed doors until two and half weeks ago.

img_3596I am so excited and HUMBLED to be part of a team putting together a graphic novel for tweens. I LOVE LOVE LOVE doing this. The past two and half weeks have been spent learning the ropes of new software and a Wacom Cintiq. I am…dying over here. Flat on my face in awe. I can’t believe it.

Also, the past two weeks have also been something crazy. I have a hard time with change for starters. Then computer trouble! Then hooking it all up? With my husband? I might have had to go to repentance later. Ha!

Anyways, THAT is why I have been quiet lately. And I will probably continue to be so for a while, but I will pop in every once in a while to keep you posted on book three and a few new releases that I will be helping to get the word out about in the next few months.

Hope you all are well!

Tell me. What is one thing you are looking forward to this fall/winter?

I’m so glad that you got to work on the graphic novel project! At least you’re working from home, right?

I’m looking forward to cooler days and nights, too. And jeans. And hot tea. And pumpkins.

Thank you! Yes, I’m working from home. 😀

I am right there with you. Today we had our first real fall day. LOVE the cooler temps. 🙂

Ooooh! A graphic novel! How fun!! I’m looking forward to the release of my fantasy picture book series, Willoughby and Friends. Woot! Also cooler nights, pumpkins, campfires, sweatshirts and changing leaves.

    • J.L. Mbewe

Oh, how exciting for you!! When does it release? Oh, I can’t wait for all the fall things, except we don’t get much for changing leaves down here. I sure do miss them! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m really looking forward to cooler temps and autumn winds and leaves. Oh, and NaNoWriMo.

Oh yes! And autumn winds! I forgot about those. I love NaNoWriMo! I was hoping to write something new for November, but my progress on book three is slower than I would like. Ha! So most likely I will use that time to spur on my writing/revising of book three. We shall see! I still have October. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

I love hearing from you!
