Retreat

Hello adventurers!

The retreat was so…nice! Beautiful. Peaceful.

I have to admit I had huge expectations. I was expecting to be blown away with some aha moment or a burning bush, which didn’t happen. Instead, I got what I needed. My soul was covered in a balm of peace.

Just to be surrounded my nature!

The food was amazing! I slept in the top bunk, that was fun. And did a lot of walking. Much needed after eating all that amazing food. Ha!IMG_8489 (640x640)

The first night a massive thunderstorm with threats of a tornado hit our area. Rain, lightening, thunder. Awesome! And we waited it out by playing Taboo.

Saturday, I went canoeing, saw a big fish jump out of the water several times, lots of turtles, and kept an eye out for a possible alligator. Someone had seen one! But we didn’t. And then, I went zip lining for IMG_8449 (640x640)the first time ever! Unfortunately, because of the rain we couldn’t go horseback riding. Maybe another time. And I didn’t get to go swimming either, but doesn’t that look awesome?

So that was my weekend. And now I’m trying to return to reality and get Darkened Hope ready for its line edit. Didn’t take long with a kid throwing up through the night, but I am definitely appreciating these little moments more. They grow up so fast!

Have you ever gone to a retreat before? What was your experience?

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a retreat but I used to go to little ones. They were always relaxing and a nice chance to get to know some of the ladies from church better. 🙂

I’m so glad it was what you needed! Sounds lovely!

Our church’s retreats happen at a small camp/conference center, in a beautiful mountain setting with very few activities but gorgeous views. We tend to hang around and chat, nap, take walks together, and almost always do a pottery painting afternoon. And of course there are devotional times and worship times together. Very relaxing!

That sounds lovely, after all you’ve been going through! You’ve sounded better since you got back. 🙂

Thanks Kessie! It was lovely! Wow, it’s hard to know how we sound out in cyberspace, but glad I sound better. 😀 Thanks for stopping by!

I love hearing from you!
