This week I braved the crowd at the library for my kids, again. (I’m beginning to think the older I get, the less I want to leave the house. 0.o)
You see, my daughter wanted to pet a snake. Last year, she was so upset that she didn’t get to, so I made a point for her to do it this year. She is my fearless one. I want to be like her when I grow up.
And my son. He was scared of the snakes. Didn’t want to have anything to do with them. He spent much of the time peeking out from behind me. Partly because the snake show was also a comedy routine that included startling the kids with fake snakes. But at the end, he petted a snake and a Taegu lizard. He told me: I faced my fear.
Oh my heart.
And you know what? I’ve held a snake once. It was oddly comforting… 0.o
Have you ever held or touched a snake before?
How was your week?
