Weekend Fun

Posted by on March 30, 2016

easter fun2This past weekend many have spent celebrating Easter. With our multicultural family and our extended families living out-of-state and out of the country, holidays look a little different around here. Meaning, we haven’t figured that part out yet. Still, we manage to have fun. Besides, it’s about creating memories with the kids whether we are embracing traditions or exploring new ones.

So this past weekend we were invited to join some friends at a festival with bounce houses and fun activities for the kids…and by kids, I mean kid-at-heart.

It’s been a long time since I’ve…loosened up a bit. And I am paying for it now. Ha! My friend and I bounced each other in those large blow-up balls and raced each other on horse hoppers and sack races. Although, I drew my line at the towering bounce houses. We did that a couple of years ago and I got sick from it. Like the last time I played dodge ball (which was *cough* last month!). Oh, I paid for that for a week!

easter funSo it might be assumed that I am getting too old for this kind of stuff. And for sure my body might agree, but I’m not going down easy. Nope. I’m not too old. Just out of shape. There’s a difference. Now I just need to fix that. And in the meantime, put some heat or something on my neck and shoulders. Ha!

Either way, we had a blast. And the kids did too.

How was your weekend?

I’m not too old and I don’t wanna go down easy either, however, my body has other thoughts. HA!! My weekend consisted of helping my bestie have a garage sale – set up on Friday and sale on Saturday – because she’s moving from PA to Oregon. 🙁 It’s a good move for her, but man, I’ll miss her.

The best thing was that hubby and I were able to attend church on Sunday together! We haven’t been able to go to Christmas Eve or Easter services together in 14 years because we don’t ask anyone to leave their families on those holidays to sit with our special needs adult daughter, Anna. Anna enjoyed the music and she didn’t have any seizures during the service. Yay!

And Monday, we took Anna and MIL and headed to Baltimore to the National Aquarium. Such a nice day!

Oh, it sounds like a very special Sunday for you. So glad that you were able to enjoy that time with your hubby and that Anna got to enjoy the music and was seizure free! Aquariums are awesome! I would LOVE for an aquarium, but not sure I am ready for THAT kind of commitment.

I’m sorry your bestie is moving! Thank you for stopping by and sharing your weekend with me!

I love hearing from you!
