Saying Goodbye after 16 Years

Hello adventurers!

Where did July go?

I have been sucked into a worm hole somewhere around the beginning of July and spat back out here. I’m still a bit shell-shocked. While the book tour and the Facebook party was happening, we had friends staying with us. So there were trips to Sea World and the Riverwalk and a pizza party amid sharing blog posts and interacting online. And then when they left, my sister and her kids came. We had another trip to Sea World and the Riverwalk and we made homemade pizza from scratch. Yum! And to top it all off, this upcoming weekend, my hubby and I will be celebrating SEVENTEEN years of marriage. We’ll be spending a few days in Corpus Christi with the kiddos to celebrate.

And I? I am exhausted. Ha! But a good exhausted. I had things I’ve been wanting to share with you guys and touch on in regards to Curse Bound‘s release, and it didn’t happen. I blame the time-warp worm hole, but in reality, my brain hasn’t been able to process it. It hasn’t had time to process! Ha!

But one thing I do know. YOU made Curse Bound‘s launch a success and I am so grateful for all of you who helped celebrate its release. I am humbled. Thank you!

Curse Bound, and the Hidden Dagger Trilogy, was sixteen years in the making. SIXTEEN years. I might have to change the title of this blog post, because I still can’t process the end. These beloved characters have been rattling around in my head for sixteen years. The world of Nälu has become like a second home, these characters like a second skin. Their journeys have become mine. I can dive in and write without much thought to it. Unlike now, when I am trying to create a whole new world and characters. Everything is so awkward and slow. I don’t think Ayianna, Kael, Vian, Jathil, and the Guardians will ever leave me. And maybe one day I will return the world, and we’ll see Jathil again. Or go back in time and see how Trygg saved the world the first time. (I do have rough drafts of their stories!) We’ll see. But for now, I close the chapter on this world. I hope you are left with the same feeling of delicious satisfaction that I have.

Thank you so much for journeying with me!!! I can’t wait to take you on another adventure. And where we’re going, you can bet there’ll be dragons and unicorns and mermaids.

Thank you!!

Well I cried at the end of Curse Bound because what an adventure! I understand such a small scale, but do know I would be more then thrilled if you write more of their stories!
